Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what Agentic Engineer LLC ("Agentic Engineer," "we," "us") collects when you visit agentic-engineer.com (the "Website") and what we do with it.

The short version: the Website is a blog and a newsletter. There are no accounts, no logins, and nothing to buy. The only personal information we collect is an email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter.

Children's Privacy

The Website is intended for a professional audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email matthew.fontana@agentic-engineer.com and we will delete it.

Information We Collect

Information you give us.

• Email address. Collected only when you submit the newsletter subscription form. We also record the page you subscribed from (for example, "blog-index") so we can tell which writing brings people in.
• Correspondence. If you email us, we receive your message, your address, and anything you choose to include.

Information collected automatically.

• Analytics data. Aggregated, privacy-preserving page view and performance measurements. See "Analytics" below.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data, including IP address and user agent, as part of delivering and protecting the Website. We use a short-lived, in-memory record of IP addresses to rate-limit the subscription form against abuse. This is not retained.

Information we do not collect. We do not collect names, payment details, government identifiers, precise location, or account credentials. We do not operate user accounts. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined under applicable law.

How We Use Information

We use the information above only to:

1. Send you the newsletter you subscribed to, and let you unsubscribe from it.
2. Understand, in aggregate, which pages people read.
3. Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Website, including rate-limiting abuse of the subscription form.
4. Respond to you when you contact us.
5. Comply with law.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share or disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We do not use your email address to profile you, and we do not send advertising on behalf of third parties.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Website does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking SDKs.

A local browser preference may be stored on your device to remember your light or dark theme choice. This stays in your browser, is not transmitted to us, and identifies nobody.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to measure page views and page performance. These are configured to operate on aggregated, de-identified data and do not use cookies to track individuals across sites. See Vercel's privacy documentation at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Service Providers and Infrastructure

We use a small number of third-party providers. Each processes information only as needed to provide its service:

• Vercel Inc. hosts the Website and provides the analytics described above.
• Buttondown LLC operates the newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address, the source page, and your subscription status are stored by Buttondown, which sends the newsletter on our behalf and handles unsubscribes. See buttondown.com/legal/privacy.

If we add or replace a provider that handles personal information, we will update this Policy.

AI-Enabled Features

The Website is a static publication. It does not include chatbots or interactive AI features, and no information you submit to the Website is sent to a third-party AI model provider.

Articles on this Website discuss AI development tools, and code examples may reference third-party APIs. Those references are editorial content. If you choose to use such a tool yourself, your use is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

Disclosure of Information

We disclose personal information only:

• To the service providers listed above, for the purposes described.
• If required by law, subpoena, or other valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Agentic Engineer or others.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will post notice on this page.

We do not disclose personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or marketing partners.

Your Choices

Unsubscribing. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately and requires no explanation. You may also email matthew.fontana@agentic-engineer.com and we will remove you.

Access, correction, and deletion. Email matthew.fontana@agentic-engineer.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Because the only record we hold is a newsletter subscription, "delete my data" and "unsubscribe and erase me from the list" are in practice the same request, and we will honor it either way.

We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

State Privacy Rights (U.S.)

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of sale or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information and do not engage in targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. To exercise the remaining rights, use the contact address above.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, the only category of personal information we collect is "identifiers" (an email address), collected directly from you, used for the newsletter, and retained until you unsubscribe. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months.

EU/EEA/UK Users (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases are:

• Consent for the newsletter. You gave it by subscribing and confirming, and you may withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing, without affecting processing already carried out.
• Legitimate interests for aggregate analytics, security, and abuse prevention, balanced against your rights.

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Contact matthew.fontana@agentic-engineer.com to exercise them.

Security

We use HTTPS throughout, keep credentials out of the Website's source, and limit the number of systems that touch personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Aggregate analytics contain no personal identifiers and are retained on our analytics provider's standard schedule. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider on its standard schedule.

International Transfers

We operate in the United States, and our providers process information in the United States. If you access the Website from elsewhere, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses entered into by our providers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Policy on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Website after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
